What are Stanchions Made Of?

Stanchion posts are typically made of one of two things: Metal or Plastic.

Plastic Stanchions are made of plastic rather than metal, making them lightweight and immune to most types of weather damage. Additionally, plastic stanchion posts typically have a hollow base that is designed to be filled with sand, gravel, or water for added strength and weight.

Metal stanchions are heavier and are designed to stand up to a more aggressive crowd. They’re also a touch classier and are typically used indoors for customer line creations, VIP areas, airports and such.
